GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) is the test of general education that defines mathematical, verbal and analytical person’s skills. Passing this test is essential for getting into business school and economical departments of some European universities.
In 1953 the Graduate Management Admission Council organization (GMAC) was founded by unification of efforts of 9 business school with the purpose to develop standardized test that will help schools to select qualified students. For the first year of this test existing (now it is known as Graduate Management Admission Test) it was passed more than 2000 times. At the beginning the test was used by 54 business schools, now GMAT is used as one of the parts of admission process by more than 1500 schools and in more than 1800 programs. Till the end of 2005 GMAT was enrolled by Educational Testing Service (ETS). Since the 1st of January 2006 its management functions were delegated to ACT Inc which develops GMAT tasks and to Pearson Value which at once holds the test. Read more >>
